Observing Systems is a large scale multi-room installation in which two groups of robots (steamers and dishracks) are vitally tied together in a feedback loop. Recordings are made of the ways in which they control each other by a piano-playing machine, etch-a-sketch tablets, and a device which constructs an object in aerosol foam. The work addresses issues raised by artificial intelligence, digital culture and cybernetics. Mixed media dimensions variable. 2002
